D-Day for Concert/Wind/Symphonic Wind Band
D-Day March
for Concert/Wind Band
Composed by Keith Terrett
D-Day March is a stirring and dignified concert march commemorating the Allied landings in Normandy on 6 June 1944—one of the most significant military operations in history. Rather than depicting the conflict itself, the work honours the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the servicemen and women who took part in Operation Overlord.
Opening with a bold and confident fanfare, the march unfolds through energetic themes, lyrical melodies, and a majestic trio before building to a powerful and triumphant conclusion. Brilliant brass writing, colourful woodwind scoring, and dynamic percussion combine to create a concert march that is both exciting to perform and inspiring to hear.
Originally recorded by the Central Ohio Brass Band and the Brass Band of Columbus, the march has been praised for its memorable themes, ceremonial character, and exciting finale.
Ideal for concert performances, remembrance services, military commemorations, patriotic celebrations, and ceremonial occasions, D-Day March is a fitting musical tribute to the generation whose bravery changed the course of history.
Duration: Approximately 4–5 minutes.
